A couple of months ago, Princess announced several cruises with a 1980s theme. You can review the list at this link. The purpose of this post is to discuss the cruises in more detail.
Things in common
- All cruises promise the items listed in the image above. These include live music acts, trivia, TVs and movies on demand in the cabins, a deck party, a dress-up night, and Movies Under the Stars by the pool
- Among the music acts is WANTED, a tribute to Bon Jovi. They will be at all of these cruises.
- DSB, the tribute act for Journey, will be at all but one of these.
- Leo Rossi, former tour manager and current author, will tell his stories on one cruise
- Each cruise will have a comedian – not necessarily related to the 80s. Carlos Oscar will be on three of them. Other guest comedians will be John Joseph and Ralph Harris.
- Other tribute acts will be Double Vision (Foreigner), Red Corvette (Prince), Pat Benatar Experience, and Hollywood U2
- Note that they’re all very short cruises – 4 days, except for one that’s 5 days

Above is a listing of the cruises and the entertainment that is scheduled for each. I’ll add links and a few more details below.

Princess previous themed cruise history
Princess had some other themed cruises in 2021 – both 80s and comedy. Earlier in 2022, they had some themed cruises in England with varied themes – sports stars and food among them. There are also some comedy themed cruises scheduled for between October 2022 and April 2023. The Love Boat themed cruise was originally scheduled for February 2022 but rescheduled to October.
80s themed cruise, November 2021 – my review
I previously did one of the 80s themed cruises last November. This is my review.
Conclusions
Each of these cruises promise to be a fun time if you’re a fan of the 1980s or its music. I encourage you to choose the date and location that works best for you. Beyond that, try to find a cruise that has the tribute acts and/or comedian that you most want to see. All of the cruises are quite inexpensive, and they are far cheaper than other themed cruises I’ve seen of similar length.
Considering all of these factors, I chose the April 9, 2023 cruise to go on. Perhaps I will see some of you there?
