How To Choose a Music Themed Cruise

Three factors to go through before booking

There are three general groups of factors to go through every time you attempt to book a music themed cruise.

1. Who’s playing?

If you’re going to pony up the cash for a music themed cruise, of course the performers are extremely important to your experience. If a cruise has a performer that makes you excited, that’s great. It’s a point in that cruise’s favor. I find it easiest to just scan down the list of performers and see how many you want to see. My compiled list of over 30 music themed cruises is here.

There’s this list for the Sandy Beaches Cruise that will sail in January 2023:

And this list for the Outlaw Country Cruise in February 2023:

And last, but certainly not least, take a look at this lineup for the Monsters of Rock Cruise in April 2023:

Perhaps you’ve already been sufficiently stimulated by one or more of these cruises and have already put your finger on the “buy” button. I would ask you to wait for a few minutes and read the rest of this post. I’ll make it worth your while.

2. What’s the overall theme?

The performers contribute to the overall theme, of course, but there’s also a theme on most music cruises that go beyond any individual performer. Sandy Beaches has a beach theme, Outlaw Country covers the edgier side of country, and Monsters of Rock has a straight on rock and roll theme. This influences the other guests will be your buddies for the next few days, what activities are on board, the background music, and more.

3. Everything else

“Everything else” covers everything else that you would use to consider a cruise or any other vacation, including but not limited to:

  • Where you will be boarding the ship (embarkation port)
  • Where you will be stopping and when (itinerary)
  • Who will be cruising with you – if anyone
  • What else you want to do on the ship – like shopping, gambling, drinking, etc.
  • What cruise line is being used
  • When is the cruise
  • How much is the base fare
  • How much are the extras
  • What payment plans are offered

Now that you know what to consider when booking a music charter, you should give careful consideration to your preferences and which factors are most important to you. Another piece of research you might want to do is to read up on why I decided not to go on a cruise that was appealing to me.

After you’ve done your due diligence, I give you permission to book the cruise that looks best to you. Bon voyage!
