Saint Lucia

We arrived at St. Lucia a little before 8 AM and were cleared a little after 8. It’s such a beautiful country that I have few words, just pictures. This one is from my cabin window. Forgive the blurs; it was a little wet:

This was from the back of the ship:

This last picture was also from the back of the ship. It seems that the Magic followed us here:

I went to eat breakfast at the Oceanview Cafe (wonderfully tasty, as usual), then I did a bit of reading before heading out to meet my excursion – a panoramic tour of the island.
Today we only had a little rain which hardly impeded us as we saw the sights in St. Lucia – mostly from our bus, which held about 20.
Please allow me the opportunity post a few more photos:

The tour ended about 12:30 and we dropped off at the La Carenage terminal.

It had a little bit of shopping, but not too much, and I wasn’t much in the mood for buying stuff, so I resisted and headed back to the ship.
While I was back on the ship, I took advantage of an offer that was told to me in the newsletter – if I bought 24 hours of premium access for $50, I would get 24 hours for free. That added up to two days of Internet access on the ship for $22.50 per day. It wasn’t the worst deal in the world.
The speeds while we were docked in St. Lucia were the best I would get. I was able to stream YouTube without too much problem.

Soon enough, Captain Pierre determined we had everyone on the ship we needed and we left for Barbados, a 120 nautical mile journey.
Barbados
We arrived at 8 AM and were cleared soon after. My excursion wasn’t until 11, so I had a lot of time to eat breakfast and read.
About 9:30 I went out to the port to sightsee and take pictures. The port here is more industrial, but it has room for cruise ships, and we were the only one here that day:

I went inside the terminal to do a bit of shopping and wait for the excursion. A bit after 10, wouldn’t you know it, it started raining. Hard. It didn’t let up for a while. In order to get on that excursion, I needed my ticket, which meant I would have to go through the rain, go through security, go to my cabin, grab my ticket and umbrella, go back through the rain, and back into the terminal. That seemed like a lot to go through. I decided I didn’t really want to do that, so I decided to skip my excursion. There was no refund for this one, unlike the two others that were canceled out on me.
I went back to the ship, dodging raindrops all the way. By the time I dried off and made it back to the room, it had stopped raining. Just my luck… that was the last of the rain here for the day.
We had a long way to go to get to San Juan and needed an extra sea day to get there.
